Why is artist X not on Heavy MTL?
We take all artist suggestions very seriously, and value all feedback we receive. We strive to have a diverse lineup for Heavy MTL. Unfortunately, many artists have previous obligations and/or their tour routing makes it impossible for them to join us at Heavy MTL.
What time is artist X playing? What time does the headliner play?
The official Heavy MTL 2008 schedule will be made available through www.Heavy MTL.com in the weeks prior to the festival. Heavy MTL starts at 1:00pm and ends at 11:00pm each day. Headliners are the last to play on each day, and hit the stage at approximately 9:30pm.
Can I bring my camera to Heavy MTL?
Detachable lens cameras will not be permitted on site. All other non-professional cameras will be permitted at Heavy MTL.
How many songs will artist X play?
This all depends on the artist’s set length. The number of songs an artist will play is determined solely by the artist. Heavy MTL does not control the number of songs played by any given artist.
Please note that headliners will be playing full sets.
Why is there a seat number on my Heavy MTL ticket?
The seat number is not in fact a seat number, but a tracking number. This number is to help us keep track of the number of tickets purchased online. There is no assigned seating at the Heavy MTL festival.
Is there camping at Parc Jean-Drapeau?

Can I bring my car to Heavy MTL?
We strongly encourage you to leave your car behind and use Montreal’s public transit system. It is inexpensive and provides the easiest access to the Heavy MTL site as there is a metro (subway) station right at the gates of the festival. You can buy a weekend transit pass at the Montreal Metro (subway) stations (click here to see the rates). Here is a map of the Montreal metro (subway) system, with Heavy MTL located at the Jean Drapeau stop, on the yellow line.
When do they end? What is there to do after the show?
Heavy MTL ends at 11:00pm each night, but don’t let that stop you from partying while you’re in Montreal. We suggest checking out the sights and sounds of the city. St Laurent Boul. (known as “The Main”) or St. Denis street are always a fair bet. We suggest asking some locals where the best watering holes are, or what restaurant to hit up for a tasty post-festival treat. Poutine, Bagels, and Smoke Meat are amongst the must-haves for any visitor anxious to get the real Montréal experience.
What's the weather like in June?
June in Montreal is most often quite warm (just hot enough) and sunny, so bring plenty of sunscreen and some shades to protect yourself from those sunny rays. Needless to say, please do come prepared for less idealistic weather. We suggest bringing a pocket-sized poncho, and a warm shirt/windbreaker just in case the weather isn’t so warm and sunny.
Will there be other things to do onsite?
Oh, you better believe it!!!
Can I bring a child that's, like, five?
Heavy MTL is an all-ages event, and children are welcome to come. Children aged 10 years and younger are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult with a valid Heavy MTL ticket.
We believe that parents are the best judges when it comes to whether or not to bring their young child or children to a rock festival. If parents are concerned with having their children in a place where alcohol is being consumed, then maybe Heavy MTL is not the right place to bring your child. If you want to expose your child to all kinds of great music and art, and don’t mind that the person next to you might be sipping on an alcoholic beverage then Heavy MTL might just be the festival for you!
What time do the bands start?
The magic begins at 1:00pm Eastern Standard Time.
