Not stopping at blistering live shows, HEAVY MTL 2010 has also decided to create a new event to kick-off the weekend in a special fashion. On Friday, July 23rd at Metropolis, fans are invited to attend CINE-METAL, where two of the metal world’s latest and best films will be screened: ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL and IRON MAIDEN: FLIGHT 666. Members of ANVIL as well as the writers and directors from Banger Films will be available for a Q&A period after the screening!

North America’s premier metal and hard-rock event, HEAVY MTL 2010, has completed its lineup and is now fully prepared to bring fans a weekend that they will never forget! Already welcoming the likes of MEGADETH, SLAYER, KORN, ROB ZOMBIE, ALICE COOPER and more, HEAVY MTL 2010 is poised to stand in a league of its own this summer.
On Saturday, July 24th event organizers are pleased to welcome SKELETONWITCH, BAPTIZED IN BLOOD, and 36 CRAZY FISTS to round out a full day of programming.
Sunday, July 25th boasts even more additions, now including DESPISED ICON, LES EKORCHES, AIRBOURNE, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, HAIL THE VILLAIN, and DEADLY APPLES.
With the addition of no less than NINE bands to the already remarkable lineup on hand for the event, HEAVY MTL 2010 continues to raise the bar. Organizers are thrilled by the reception the festival has already enjoyed by fans from around the world and hopes that these latest additions will only continue build excitement for the loudest event in North America.
Megadeth and Slayer, who last toured the U.S. together 19 years ago on the "Clash of the Titans" extravaganza, have confirmed that they will each perform, start to finish, their 1990 releases - Slayer's world-wide, million-selling Seasons In The Abyss and Megadeth's Platinum Rust In Peace - on the upcoming Canadian and American Carnage Tours. The six-date Canadian Carnage kicks off July 23 in Quebec City, while the 19-city American Carnage dates begin August 11 in Glens Falls, NY.
Rob Halford has confirmed that his solo band 'Halford' will perform at HEAVY MTL 2010 on Saturday, July 24th at Parc Jean-Drapeau.
“I am excited to re-introduce the Halford band: Mike Chlasciak and Roy Z. on guitars, Mike Davis on bass and Bobby Jarzombek on drums, to the Metal fans in Canada this summer,” explains Rob Halford. “We are looking forward to performing a strong set and unveiling a new track for the Montreal Heavy MTL Festival.”

After the roaring reaction to HEAVY MTL 2010’s announcement earlier this month, organizers are ready to keep cranking the volume on this summer’s blockbuster metal and hard rock event. The incredible line-up of acts set to gather for two days at Parc Jean-Drapeau is continuing to grow as HEAVY MTL 2010 garners international attention.
SATURDAY JULY 24TH
Joining the festival on a day that already boasts the likes of MEGADETH, SLAYER, and ALICE COOPER, will be Montreal’s own MELISSA AUF DER MAUR and California metal band HIGH ON FIRE. Both acts will be hot off 2010 album releases and promise to add even more energy to an already exhilarating day.
SUNDAY, JULY 25TH
Organizers pledged to keep raising the bar with this year’s event, and fans who were already excited to see KORN, ROB ZOMBIE, and LAMB OF GOD, now have three more reasons to get primed for the loudest weekend of the year – AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ALEXISONFIRE, and SHADOWS FALL have all been added to Sunday’s lineup.
With these additions, HEAVY MTL further secures its status as Canada’s definitive metal and hard rock event.
HEAVY MTL 2010 will offer a number of ticketing options, giving fans the choice to experience the festival on their own terms. SINGLE DAY tickets will be $67.50, while those looking to get the most volume for their buck (no less than 18 hours worth!) can purchase a WEEKEND PASS for only $119.50.
The festival is also making a very limited number of RESERVED SEATING WEEKEND PASSES available for $179.50. These tickets will grant access to grandstands with a first-rate view of the main stage as well as exclusive concessions and restrooms.
Tickets for Heavy MTL 2010 will go onsale Saturday, March 6th at noon.
Montreal Canadian Carnage ticket holders have two options at their disposal. These fans can retain their current tickets and they will be honoured with no additional fees for the entirety of Day 1 at HEAVY MTL 2010. Alternatively, in recognition of their patience, organizers are thrilled to announce that we will offer Montreal Canadian Carnage ticket holders a chance to upgrade their tickets and purchase a weekend pass for only $100!* This special weekend pass offer will be valid until April 5, 2010.

Holding true, HEAVY MTL is thrilled to announce that the legendary ALICE COOPER as well as MASTODON, ANVIL, FEAR FACTORY, and KATAKLYSM will all be joining the festival on the very same day!
