evenko and Live Nation are also proud to announce that they will partner for a second edition of HEAVY T.O. also on August 11th and 12th, 2012 to be held at Downsview ParK in Toronto. Since the city so clearly demonstrated its enthusiasm for loud music last summer, we are happy to give them more in 2012!

HEAVY MTL is proud to announce, this year again, their association with the Canadian Cancer Society and Washburn Guitars in a special effort to raise money in the fight against cancer. Beginning August 16th, HEAVY MTL fans can bid on two very special Washburn guitars signed by the members of KISS! The auction ends August 26th at 1PM. All proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society in order to help the organization in the pursuit of their mission to eradicate cancer and improve the lives of people living with the disease.

HEAVY MTL is adding some local thunder to the line-up of its July 23 & 24 weekend at Parc Jean-Drapeau. In an effort to showcase the growing metal talent and local scene in the province, several Quebec bands have been invited to the party AND a third stage has been added to bring an even wider range of bands to fans this year. Some of these names will be familiar to followers of the local music scene over the past 20 years.
Morbid Angel will play their only date in North America this year at HEAVY MTL; Girlschool are the longest running all-female rock band, coming out of the late ‘70s New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene; Grimskunk, Slaves on Dope and Gorguts have been around the Quebec music scene since the late 80s/early 90s and this will be Annihilator’s first Montreal show in 17 years!
In order to contain all of this crushing music in one place, organizers have added a third stage to ensure that hard rock & heavy metal fans can get a taste of as much music as they can possibly handle all weekend long.
Heavy MTL is thrilled to announce the addition of Kiss, Billy Talent, Motörhead, Anthrax, Opeth, Children of Bodom, As I Lay Dying, The Sword, Times Of Grace, and DevilDriver to the 2011 lineup! Tickets for this edition will go on sale Saturday, March 26th at noon on www.heavymtl.com!
